The Brazilian currency is the Real - BRL

Salvador and Lauro de Freitas uses 110V. You might need adapters for our power sockets. The best place to find them is at the airport (try to buy them at the first airport you arrive at to make sure you will find them). It's a three-prong adapter. I highly advise you to buy them in advance, and if possible, to purchase them even before you leave your home country.

Travel Insurance is highly recommended. Please, find one of your liking before departure.

The health care in Brazil is free even if you are only visiting, although is preferable to have your own insurance for emergencies.
